Gurukul, a Dubai based organization spearheaded by Somna Tugnait - Director Projects, works towards enhancing the practice, understanding and appreciation of South Asian Art & Culture across the globe. Built on an aim to promote contemporary art in a social and educational context, Gurukul strives to develop a systematic and structural dance and educational training programme under the guidance of Pali Chandra, renowned Kathak danseuse and Artistic Director at Gurukul.
Training sessions in Classical and Contemporary Kathak are held by Gurukul under the direction of Pali Chandra at Ductac - MOE and Gurukul Studio Karama, Dubai. The teaching is based on ISTD syllabus and regular assessments are carried out to further channelize and enhance the learning process.

  Artistic DirectorPali Chandra is an internationally recognized performing artist with 18 years industry experience.
 
 
Her work encompasses performances, choreography, training and dance journalism. She is an ex-committee member of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing, U.K. and a graded member of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations. She has designed and executed workshops for prestigious institutes such as Oxford University, Birmingham University, London School of Contemporary Dance, and Bradford University, to name a few.

Under the banner of Pali Peacocks, UK, Pali Chandra has been honored at the House of Commons in London as the Best Art Director for her production ‘In the Shadow of the Hills’. She has performed for the Queen of England at Westminster Abbey and her productions were featured at the opening of the Millennium Dome of London.

Besides being a Performar and Choreographer, Pali Chandra is an Educationist and an Activist who has brought radical changes to the lives of many in need of her support.
